Which route should I take?
If you are staying around Central, the choice is a cheaper train-and-bus trip or a paid coach without the change. Staying in Western Sydney? A local airport bus may save you travelling into the city first.
| Option | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Train to St Marys + WSI Link | Train fare; WSI Link is free | Travelling on a budget |
| Super Shuttle from Central | Published launch fare: $55 adult one way | A direct ride from the city |
| Local airport bus | Normal Opal/contactless bus fare | Starting in Western Sydney |
| Taxi or rideshare | Metered fare or live booking quote | Door-to-terminal travel with bags |
- Plan a public transport journey
Enter Western Sydney International Airport as your destination and use your required arrival time.
Train to St Marys, then the free WSI Link
From Central, use the journey planner for a train stopping at St Marys on the Western Line. At St Marys, leave the station for the WSI Link stop on Nariel Street. Board the airport-bound bus; you do not need to book a coach ticket for this service.
Pay the normal train fare. The connecting WSI Link is free, with luggage storage and wheelchair access. Transport for NSW encourages tapping on and off the bus to count passengers, but does not charge a bus fare.
- WSI Link stops and timetable
St Marys: Nariel Street, stop 2760238. Returning from WSI: airport Stand A, stop 255519.
When does the free bus run?
WSI Link runs every 30 minutes: 4:30am–midnight Sunday to Thursday, and 4:30am–1am Friday and Saturday. Use the timetable for the last departure in your direction.
A half-hourly service means a missed connection matters. Plan the complete journey, including your walk to the station and the bus change, then work back from your airline’s check-in time. The bus frequency is not the journey time from Sydney.
Direct coach from Central: where to board

Super Shuttle WSI picks up at Central Station on Eddy Avenue, in the bus zone beside Stand A. The operator estimates 45–60 minutes to WSI, depending on traffic. It is a scheduled service, not a pickup from your hostel.
Buy a ticket online before travelling; tickets are not sold on the bus. The service follows flight schedules, so choose your departure in the booking system rather than turning up expecting a bus every few minutes.
| Destination | Launch fare |

Already in Western Sydney?
Five regular bus routes serve the airport. They run every 30 minutes between 5am and 10pm daily and charge normal fares; they are separate from the free St Marys shuttle.
| Starting point | Route |
|---|---|
| Mount Druitt via St Clair | 772 |
| Penrith via Kingswood | 790 |
| Liverpool via Bonnyrigg | 825 |
| Campbelltown via Oran Park | 845 |
| Liverpool via Leppington | 860 |
Driving, taxis and rideshare
The airport address is 40 Nancy Drive, Luddenham. The M12 provides toll-free access to the airport, although other motorways on your route can have tolls. Use the airport’s parking and drop-off information if someone is driving you.
WSI has no fixed taxi fare arrangement. Get a quote for a booked transfer or compare the rideshare price for your actual pickup. For several people travelling together, compare the total car quote with separate coach tickets.
What if my flight is very early or late?
The free bus does not run all night. An early bus at St Marys is only useful if you can get there in time from your accommodation. Check both legs before choosing it for an early flight.
Super Shuttle says its services cover flight schedules around the clock. Look for a bookable departure for your flight; otherwise arrange a taxi or rideshare. An airport operating overnight does not mean every public transport connection does.
Is there a train or metro to the new airport?
Not directly to the terminal yet. Sydney Metro’s Western Sydney Airport line is under construction. It will connect the airport with St Marys, where passengers can change to Sydney Trains. Until it opens, the St Marys connection uses the WSI Link bus.
WSI or SYD: which airport is on my ticket?
WSI is Western Sydney International, also called Nancy-Bird Walton Airport or the new Badgerys Creek airport. SYD is the existing Kingsford Smith airport at Mascot. The Domestic and International Airport train stations serve SYD, not WSI.
Connecting between them is a cross-city trip, not a terminal transfer. Super Shuttle serves SYD’s domestic terminals; an international connection also needs time to reach T1. Include baggage collection and your next airline’s check-in deadline when planning a connection.
- Travelling through the existing Sydney Airport instead?
Our SYD guide covers airport trains, buses, taxis and rideshare.
