Gold pins: saved places. Green pins: previews and suggestions. Blue numbered markers match the table; tap one for its name. Dashed purple links show a gap between the routed road and a place, not a walking path. Nearby pins group together; tap a numbered group to zoom in. Saving does not change directions.
For the classic Sydney beach day. Take a picnic and choose your meeting point before everyone arrives.
Getting there: Train to Bondi Junction, then bus 333 towards North Bondi. Walk down to the beach.
These are our broad planning allowances, including a connection or short walk, not live timetables. Queues, missed services and traffic can make the trip longer. Use the linked planner for the actual departure time.

One beach, or a walk between two?
For a relaxed day, take the ferry to Manly, walk to the ocean beach and return the same way. You do not need another bus once you reach the wharf.
For a longer outing, start at Bondi and walk towards Bronte. Continue towards Coogee only if you want a substantial coastal walk. Wear shoes for the path, carry water and use transport home from the beach where you finish; you do not have to walk back.
What should you put in the journey planner?
Use the beach or wharf as the destination, not just the suburb. For Manly, add the walk from Manly Wharf to Manly Beach. For Bondi, Bondi Junction is the interchange, not the sand.
Check the return service before setting off. On public holidays, choose the correct date. Accessible trips need an accessible transport connection and a suitable final path; a beach having accessible toilets does not mean every approach or swimming entry is step-free.
Choose Manly if the harbour crossing is part of the outing. Choose Bondi if seeing the famous beach matters most. Coogee is a straightforward choice from the southern city; Clovelly offers a smaller bay, and Bronte fits well with a coastal walk.
For swimming, use the patrolled area between the flags and follow closures on the day. Small bays and ocean pools are still affected by sea conditions. Bring your swimming things, but keep a walk-and-lunch plan for a rough-weather day.
