You enjoy helping customers or keeping stock organised and want a job based around a particular store.
Weekend availability, lifting or nightfill may be part of the role. A familiar brand does not guarantee predictable hours or an easy journey home.
Serve customers, handle purchases and keep the shop presentable. Duties vary by department.
Put stock on shelves and work through deliveries. Confirm lifting, overnight hours and transport home.
Select and prepare customer orders accurately. Check whether the position includes delivery or stays inside the store.
A nearby store with shifts you can reliably attend may suit your trip better than a familiar brand across town. Give your real availability, including weekends, and ask how far ahead rosters are published.
Customer service, handling payments and stock work are useful transferable skills. Some entry roles provide training; specialist sales and supervisor positions can require previous experience.
State your planned leaving date. Seasonal, casual and ongoing roles have different needs; casual does not mean the employer is happy with any length of stay.
Check work-rights questions and screening steps for each vacancy. Use your current suburb and reachable phone number, and keep availability consistent across the form and CV.
Store induction covers tills, stock systems, customer service and safe handling. Entry-level shop-floor roles are a practical route to learning these skills without first completing a retail qualification.
Official recruitment routes checked 17 October 2026. Check the individual role for current openings, work rights and the length of commitment.
Search store teams, fulfilment and online delivery. Expressions of interest build a candidate pool and are different from a confirmed vacancy.

See jobs & applyStore-assistant and other shop-floor opportunities through the official careers site. Filter the location and contract type that fit your stay.
Choose the stores you can reach, then apply through their recruitment portal. A walk-in conversation can help you understand a store, but still follow its application process.
Mention handling payments, helping customers, stock rotation or accurate picking where you have done them. For nightfill, make your late-shift transport plan clear.
