Tour camp attendant jobs in Australia

Tour camp attendants prepare accommodation, maintain shared areas and help guests settle into remote stays. You support the hospitality side of the trip, with the exact balance of cleaning, meal service and outdoor setup determined by the camp.

This could suit you if…

You enjoy practical guest support in a camp setting, from preparing rooms or tents to helping with meals.

The trade-offs

Cleaning and setup fill the time between guest arrivals. Scenic surroundings do not guarantee free time for activities or easy access to town.

What does the work involve?

Camp support keeps guest stays running: preparing rooms or tents, cleaning bathrooms, assisting meal service, organising supplies and helping with arrivals. This is different from leading an activity or driving a passenger vehicle.

The job may combine indoor hospitality with outdoor setup and pack-down. Ask about lifting, waste handling, water use and the daily timetable between guest departures and arrivals.

Will it fit my trip?

Northern touring can be seasonal, but use the employer’s dates. Confirm staff accommodation, meals, phone coverage, days-off arrangements and transfers. Living at a scenic camp does not guarantee time or permission to join guest activities.

What do I need before applying?

What background helps?

Hospitality, housekeeping and practical guest service are useful. Supporting a camp is separate from driving a tour vehicle or leading specialist activities.

Is the work seasonal?

Touring camps follow visitor seasons and departure schedules. A full-season commitment can matter more than formal tourism study; remote accommodation usually ties you to the camp between shifts.

Which training is worth doing?

Food-handler skills

Food-handler learning covers hygiene, contamination, temperature control and safe storage. A food-safety-supervisor certificate is a separate responsibility; it is not the standard starting qualification for every kitchen assistant.

Free preparation — DoFoodSafely

Free, non-accredited Victorian Government online learning covering hygiene, safe storage, contamination, allergens and cleaning. Useful preparation for food-handling duties; it is not a Food Safety Supervisor qualification.
